Francis (Zeke) Richard Power, 81 of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away at 3:55am on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Panama City, Florida. Zeke was born August 20, 1944, in Springfield, Illinois to Maurice Vincent and Bernice Willey Power. He married Janice Marie Turner on August 4, 1962, in Springfield, Illinois and retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters local 137 out of Springfield at the age of 54 in 1998. He was the owner of Power Plumbing and Heating Company in Springfield along with Power Property Rentals. In his retirement he purchased heavy equipment, bought cleared and developed land and ran a farm creating a legacy for his children and grandchildren.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman from the Mountains of Colorado to the crystal clear waters of Canada, the back waters of Illinois to the Oceans in Florida. He had many hobbies and crafts such as shooting trap, drag racing motorcycles, Golden Gloves Boxing and a collector of Indian and dinosaur artifacts and knives. Zeke enjoyed gifting his handmade jewelry and knives to many that crossed his path.
He was a member of the St. Paul Masonic Lodge 500, Scottish Rights, the Cookie unit of Ansar Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters, in Springfield, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Janice Power as well as his parents and siblings, Maurice Power, James Power, Judith Power, Bernice (Niecy) Rogers, Anna Jean Power, and a granddaughter, Nicole J. Power Williams.
Survivors include his two children from Loami, Illinois, Craig Power and wife Shelly, Diane Peecher and husband John, three grandchildren, Courtney Winters, Kyle Peecher and wife Ashley, and Kaleb Craig as well as his great grandchildren, Kat Walbert, Divea Winters, Gabe Williams and Aurora Peecher along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
