Mark Costa

Mark Costa, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026. Born on May 14, 1958, in Ludlow, Massachusetts, Mark spent most of his adult life in Panama City, Florida. He worked in the construction industry and took great pride in helping develop many of the office buildings and homes that became part of communities along the Gulf Coast.

In retirement, Mark enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness—watching soccer, spending time outdoors, fishing, and being with the people he cared about. He had a deep and lifelong love for animals and was known for rescuing strays that needed a home. Above all, Mark treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Fernando Costa; his mother, Aldina Costa; and his brother, Ernie Costa.

He is survived by his son, Mark Anthony Costa, and his wife, Petra Costa; his daughter, Melanie McDuff, and her husband, David McDuff; his grandchildren, Avery Costa, Kailyn Krebs, Cameron McDuff, and Dylan McDuff; the mother of his granddaughters and best friend, Gisele St. Angelo; his brother, David Costa, and his wife, Rosemarie Costa; and his former wife, Aleta Costa.

Mark also leaves behind many close friends and extended family members who were an important part of his life, including Derek S., Raymond Kelley, Katrina Vermette, Timothy Vermette, Michael Vermette, and Mark Parrish, along with many others who were fortunate to know him.

Mark will be remembered for how deeply he cared for those around him, the stories he shared, the lives he touched, and the laughter and memories he created along the way. His larger-than-life presence and unmistakable sense of humor will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all those whose lives were made a little brighter by knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mark’s life at a later date to be determined.
