Theodore Calvin Houchins, known to many as Calvin, passed away on June 30, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on March 12, 1969, in Louisville, Kentucky, Calvin later made his home in Panama City Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors and the water he loved so much.
Calvin was loved by many for his humor, his character, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. No matter what kind of day he was having, he had a way of keeping a smile on his face and not allowing life’s challenges to take away his happiness. He had a gift for making people laugh and was known for his playful personality — especially his love of a good jump scare and catching people off guard just to share a laugh.
Calvin loved the outdoors, swimming, and enjoying the simple moments that made life special. He also found a second family through his work at Shore Dogs in Panama City Beach, where he was loved, respected, and cherished by his coworkers and those who had the opportunity to work alongside him. His presence, humor, and kindness made an impact on everyone around him.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Anderson; his children, oldest son James Houchins, son David Houchins, and daughter Kaitlyn Houchins; along with family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Though he may no longer be with us, Calvin’s laughter, kindness, and unforgettable personality will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
